So you’re out on the town, having a fun time with your friends. You see a nice young man, or woman, eyeing you from afar. You’re feeling especially excited, and you have just enough alcohol in your system to walk over and say hi. One thing may lead to another, and before you know it – its 8 in the morning and you’re waking up in their bed.
Though many people will tell you that this is a bad thing, and you should be ashamed by your actions, I disagree. Now I do not however condone sleaziness or promiscuity – though making new friends and enjoying a mature relationship is only natural. What you need to consider is whether or not a one-night stand might actually be something more.
Often, these one-night stands don’t build into full-fledged relationships. So, don’t get your hopes up. When you think about it though, how often do blind dates turn into full-fledged relationships? The point is, that you never know where love will come from. During the midst of a one-night stand you will feel especially close to the person you’re with, expressing your emotions in the act of lovemaking. With emotions flying high and defenses temporarily subdued – who knows what special gems you’ll find in each other.
I guess my point is to keep your eyes open at all times. Still, don’t get fooled. Men, and some women, have a reputation for preying on emotions, especially those during lovemaking. These individuals then turn around and use these feelings for their own advantage. Keep your head on a swivel, but also let your heart fall from time to time. Heartbreak is one of the worst feelings in the world, but falling in love is by far the best.

| Thank you so much for this article! I feel like many people, especially women, judge when another woman has a one-night stand. But true love can come of it, and even if it doesn't it is there right. Thanks for highlighting this. | ||
