This post is for the normal Joes and Janes out there who have to work every day to keep their lives in order. Between work, and exercise, and bills, and family, and of course you have to fit in some personal & social time in there too, life can be crazy. Stella’s suggestion: organize yourself in 2012.
There are a lot of ways you can start to organize your life, but the most important thing to keep in mind is that it won’t happen overnight. Small things will add up, but you don’t all of a sudden have all the answers one random morning. However, with a little improvement every day, it won’t be too long before you begin to gain some clarity in your life.
Here are a few quick tips:
- Stop Procrastinating.
Seems simple enough, until you try to stop. Then you come up with excuses. It can be contagious though, so try to stop procrastinating with a few things in your life, and see if it doesn’t spread. Try getting your taxes done early this year for a change. Try organizing your closet tonight, as opposed to next weekend. Little steps eventually lead to big changes.
- No More Drama.
Drama makes things complicated. Complicated lives aren’t usually organized. Eliminate the drama, and you’ll be a happier “you.” Don’t involve yourself in gossip as much and don’t say things about others behind their back. In the end you’ll have more clarity in your own life.
- Get Help.
No, I don’t mean you should see a therapist – although you can if you think it would help. What I mean is that you should buy organizing tools like folders or binders or drawers to help organize your stuff. Visuals play a big role. If it looks a certain way, you will be happier. If your items, whatever they are, look organized, you’ll feel better.
Give it a shot; what have you got to lose. Organize yourself in 2012, and make it the best year ever!
